About our Dry Fix Services

Many homeowners are turning to dry fix roofing because of the many advantages of the dry fix systems now offer in terms of security, cost and installation.

We ensure that Dry Roofing Products are fitted properly, and will withstand our changeable weather and as they are fixed to the structure of roof and are less likely to blow off.

They also allow the natural movement of the building unlike the 'wet' mortar which cracks and crumbles and does not allow the natural movement of the building.

Dry ridge also allows a little ventilation to prevent condensation.

Dry ridge also has a lining which allows the rain to disperse to the roof.

Dry Ridge Installations and Dry Verge systems have many advantages over the traditional mortar based fixings.

Dry Ridge

Traditionally ridge tiles were held in place by a mortar (wet) mixture of water, cement and sand to adhere the tiles to the roof.  However, the wind and the rain eventually cause the mortar to crack and crumble, over time. This can cause the ridge tiles to become displaced and even fall, allowing for water ingress which causes more problems.  We still carry out repairs and clean the old mortar away and replace with new mortar, ridge tiles can be re-bedded.

Modern installations have replaced the traditional mortar based fixings with a mechanical fixed system (dry ridge system). The mechanical fixed system is much more beneficial and is used in all new builds.

Advantages of a dry ridge system being installed:

More durable than the mortar based fixings

Weatherproof and waterproof

No maintenance required

Allows for the natural movement of the building

Ridge Safe Roofing are experts in fitting Dry Verge Systems and can guarantee your roof and home will be vastly improved with reduced maintenance costs as a result of getting us to fit a Dry Verge System for your roof.

The number of storms battering the UK is on the increase and there is a growing realisation of the unreliability of using mortar to secure areas of the roof such as the verge.

The Dry Verge Tile System has been designed to be a cost effective alternative that avoids all of the long term maintenance problems of mortar bedding.

Dry Verges also keep out the birds etc. from creating holes and entering the roof space where they could cause problems.
